Chair of Breast Pathology, King's College London
Sarah Pinder undertook her medical degree in Manchester and started her histopathology training in Manchester and then Nottingham and, via Senior Lecturer/Consultant posts in Nottingham and then Cambridge, is now Chair of Breast Pathology at Kings College London. As Lead Specialist Breast Pathologist at Guy’s & St Thomas’ Hospitals she reports breast pathology (50% time NHS) and has a large referral practice.
Her translational research interests are also focused on breast cancer pathology (particularly DCIS) and she has published over 275 articles in the peer-reviewed literature, as well as over 100 invited articles and chapters.
Professor Pinder chairs the Royal College of Pathologists/UK NHS Breast Screening Pathology (BSP) Coordinating Committee and is a member of various other BSP committees, such as the BSP Research Advisory Committee, as well as the Sloane Project Steering Group. She is a member of a number clinical trial and translational research committees, including the low risk DCIS trial (LORIS) (for which she is one of three central review pathologists), OPTIMA and MAMMO50, amongst others.
