Ben O’Leary trained in aerospace engineering in Cambridge and then in medicine in London. In 2012 he became an academic clinical fellow in Clinical Oncology. Ben subsequently undertook an MRC Clinical Research Training Fellowship in Nick Turner’s Molecular Oncology group at The Institute of Cancer Research, studying mechanisms of resistance to CDK4/6 inhibitors in breast cancer using circulating tumour DNA. In 2019 he was appointed an NIHR academic clinical lecturer at The Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research. Ben’s current research is focused on understanding the evolution of resistance to novel cancer therapies.
