Biography
Peter Barry graduated from the University of Sydney, Australia and trained in general surgery in Sydney, after which he completed clinical fellowships in breast and endocrine surgery (Sydney & San Francisco) and Sarcoma, Melanoma and Oncoplastic Breast Surgery at the Royal Marsden Hospital, London, UK. His clinical interests include intra-operative ultrasound, complex axillary surgery, immediate implant-based breast reconstruction and perforator flap surgery as part of the Oncoplastic repertoire. His translational research interests include investigating intra-tumoral and lymph node heterogeneity and he has led a pilot rapid autopsy programme for metastatic breast cancer. He also has an interest in peri-operative biomarkers including ct-DNA and markers of immune response as well as pre-treatment window studies.
