Catherine Harper-Wynne Dr Catherine Harper-Wynne completed her medical oncology training at The Royal Marsden Hospital, has worked at the Kent Oncology Centre since 2004 working at Maidstone and Dartford Hospitals and is currently SACT lead. She is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Universities of Kent and Kent and Medway Medical School, clinically supporting PhD students involved in basic research into triple negative breast cancer and novel methods of evaluating the axilla. Her other research interests include exercise physiology and breast cancer and bone health in breast cancer. She continues clinical research locally and nationally as Principal and Chief Investigator (CI) of many breast cancer trials such as CI for PALOMA2 involving the CDK4/6 inhibitor palbociclib and new oral SERD. At regional and national level she is a member of the NCRI advanced breast cancer research Group and is joint site specific lead of Kent, Surrey and Sussex breast cancer research group. She is breast cancer lead on the NHSE clinical advisory group and secretary of the UK Breast Cancer Group (UKBCG). Over the pandemic she has been a member of the National Cancer Policy Covid Group, involved in developing testing and vaccination protocols for patients. She has been involved in medical oncology education as CESR lead on the Specialist Training Committee for Medical Oncology at the Royal College of Physician, updating the curriculum and producing the National Chemotherapy Competency document for use across all specialties.
