Gareth Evans Professor Evans is a chair of Medical Genetics and Cancer Epidemiology at University of Manchester. He has established a national and international reputation in clinical and research aspects of cancer genetics, particularly in neurofibromatosis and breast cancer. He has published 918 peer reviewed research publications (>550 on breast cancer); 326 as first/senior author. In addition >150 reviews and chapters. He has an ISI web of knowledge H-index of 118 and google scholar of 159. He has led a successful bid for a Nationally funded NF2 service (£7.5 million pa)-2010 and is involved in the national complex NF1 service. He was chair of the NICE guidelines on familial breast cancer 2003-2012 and then clinical lead 2012-. He is the cancer Prevention Early Detection theme leader on the Manchester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre.
