Professor of Cancer Epidemiology at Newcastle University
Linda Sharp is a Professor of Cancer Epidemiology at Newcastle University. Cancer survivorship has been a major focus of her research for many years. Around a decade ago, she developed an interest in adherence to endocrine therapy in women with breast cancer. Working with colleagues in Ireland, she undertook several studies seeking to identify determinants of adherence. Building on that formative research, she currently co-leads SWEET with Professor Eila Watson from Oxford Brookes University. SWEET is a 7 year research programme funded by NIHR to develop and test a patient-centred support package to help women with early stage breast cancer take hormone therapy as recommended.
